Aïd sacrifices
(Beijing, CHINA)
“Although usually obscured by the news reporters looking for stories of conflicts, there is a rich community of muslims in China.
They can often be spotted selling lamb-skewers or noodles, but they are otherwise discreetly living in all parts of China.
Despite the country’s countless claims of love and respect for its ethnic minorities, most chinese muslims suffer of segregation and prejudices.
This scene took place in the centre of Beijing , in the street in front of their mosque, as part of the preparations for the Aïd el Kebir”.
