A day in 24 colour photographs

“Wuhan is a city barely smaller than Paris, in the heart of China.

Since I was staying in a suburbian University Campus, I had to travel daily to the city centre where I worked.

This everyday journey between the suburb and downtown helped me capture the many faces of life in China.

All these images were shot between 2006 & 2007 and represent different areas of the city.

This work has no intention of showing a collection of glamourous postcards but should rather be seen as an attempt to draw the portrait of the daily life of the city, sharing the colours, scents and rythm of a Chinese city, between urbanity and rurality.”
