Butô, Session 2

I had seen butô dancers only once as a teenager but this had left me a very strong impression. My passion for Japan and my troubled emotional state both connected in the world of of Butô. When I met with Tina Besnard, this all suddenly came back to me. She wanted photographs to show her work and try to reach the audience around the city of Rennes. No need to say that Butô dancing is not the most popular kind of dance in France. I enjoyed working with her and that collaboration also allowed me to work on expressionism, of which I am very fond.” Tina Besnard is a dancer, story-teller and a painter.
